Armie Hammer has just been cast as the title role in Disney’s version of  “The Lone Ranger” with Johnny Depp at his side as Tonto.  However, it is expected to be nothing like the classic Western TV series.  “Pirates Of The Caribbean” and “Rango” director Gore Verbinski and Johnny Depp will be reuniting for the movie version of the hit 50′s show.Armie is known for playing the duel part of the Winklevoss twins in “The Social Network.” Clint Eastwood’s “J. Edgar.- Sara Hammel” will be his next film.

Depp told reporters: “When the idea came up (for the movie), I started thinking about Tonto and what could be done in my own small way try to reinvent the relationship, to attempt to take some of the ugliness thrown on the Native Americans – not only in The Lone Ranger, but the way Indians were treated throughout history of cinema – and turn it on its head.”
