T.I.’s reality show sends him back to jail

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

After being released on August 31, rapper T.I. is already headed back to jail. Upon his release, he was given specific instructions to report to his halfway house where he will then serve the remaining 30 days of his sentence. He was also told that he could only travel with his wife and was forbidden from conducting business while on the bus.

Prison officials reported that T.I.’s manager and two VH1 producers were on his bus. Apparently they were exchanging ideas for his upcoming reality show and book. Such actions were in direct violation of the orders given to him when he was released. Even though T.I.’s manager and the VH1 producers submitted letters claiming they weren’t discussing business, prison officials are still sending the rapper back to jail.

T.I. cries out for help

Monday, October 18th, 2010

Looks like rapper T.I. is headed back to jail for another 11 months. After being pulled over and caught with drugs in his possession he was ordered back to jail for violating his probation. In court last Friday he begged the judge for mercy stating that he needed help for his drug addiction not a jail sentence. Apparently his plea fell on deaf ears and now he has two weeks to turn himself in and begin serving time. Although he is disappointed in his sentencing it was considered a slap on the wrist compared to what the government would have asked for.

T.I. told reporters: “I want drugs out of my life. If I can get the treatment and counseling I need.I can beat this. I need help. For me, my mother, my kids, I need the court to give me mercy.”

T.I. violates probation

Friday, September 3rd, 2010

Rapper T.I. could be facing hard time once again after him and wife Tameka were arrested for possession of a controlled substance earlier this week. They were pulled over Wednesday night for making an illegal U-turn on the Sunset Strip and when police searched their vehicle pills resembling ecstasy were found. Under the terms of his sentence, he was forbidden to commit any kind of crime, avoid possessing controlled substances, submit to random drug tests, and enroll in drug and alcohol treatment. His probation officer is waiting for confirmation of what exactly the pills are before making a judgment call.

T.I.’s lawyer told reporters: “It’s almost certain he’ll end up appearing before the court here. But without knowing all the facts, it’s premature to speculate what the court is likely to do.”

T.I.’s Back

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

Rapper T.I. has been released from prison after serving only six months of his one year sentence for his felony weapons charges conviction. He is now being sent to live out the remainder of his sentence in a halfway house in his home town Atlanta.

T.I.’s attorney Steve Sadow says:“[A halfway house] is not unusual in the least; it happens across the board as long as the inmates are eligible. They decided that three months in a halfway house would assist him with reentering society.”
